Boise Rescue Mission Receives a Helping Hand from Meridian’s Accent Hospice

Boise, ID.  Accent Hospice Care, LLC, has donated hundreds of dollars to the Boise Rescue Mission (BRM) in honor of a patient they have who was living at the mission.  In many instances, hospices are the recipient of charitable contributions, but in this case, their pharmacy administrator, Origins Pharmacy Solutions, offered a way for the hospice to be the benefactor.  Through a campaign called “One for the Least of These”, a portion of Accent Hospice’s drug expenditures were donated by Origins to a charity that serves the homeless or displaced children. The staff at Accent said  “We chose the Rescue Mission because we believe that their mission statement and ministry closely align with our hospice philosophy of providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to individuals and families that are journeying from this life to the next.”

Accent Hospice Care, LLC is based in Meridian, Idaho and provides hospice care for individuals and families that are experiencing the end of life process.  Reverend Bill Roscoe, President of the Boise Rescue Mission said, “We are so thankful to Accent employees for choosing to donate to Boise Rescue Mission.”

Since 1958, Boise Rescue Mission has taught the Word of God and provided food, shelter, clothing and opportunities to recover from homelessness to men, women and children in need. BRM is the largest provider of services to the homeless in the state of Idaho and their priority is to address the root causes of homelessness, such as mental illness, lack of education, addiction, etc., to help homeless individuals and families become self-sufficient. Accent Hospice’s donation will provide 188 meals in the BRM’s dining facilities.

Last year, BRM facilities served 10,000 individuals 375,612 nutritious meals, provided 126,729 warm beds, distributed 68,356 items of clothing, and provided career assistance to hundreds of individuals and families to help them successfully transition from homelessness back into the community as independent citizens. They have five facilities in Boise and Nampa.

As individuals transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency, they benefit from BRM support services for each step of their journey.  Through comprehensive programs addressing addiction, mental health problems and educational deficiencies, BRM assists guests in getting their GED, developing strong life and job skills, preparing for job interviews, becoming financially responsible, regaining hope and confidence, and much more.

Jaren Reyna, CEO of Origins Pharmacy Solutions, said his Middleton-based company is honored to provide a platform that brings Accent Hospice and Boise Rescue Mission together with the common goal of improving the lives of those facing great difficulty.
